Screensharing with Skype

Often when troubleshooting, it's better if we can see your screen. This can be done with Skype v 2.8.0 or later.

You can get Skype here: http://www.skype.com/intl/en/download/skype/macosx.  Here are some step by step instructions.

You'll need to:

  1. Setup a Skype account if you don't already have one.
  2. Add a contact for shinywhitebox (if you've been pointed here after requesting help, then the SWB support representative should have provided their skype name to you already).

To find friends so that they can be added to your Contacts, select the “Search for Skype users” option from the “Contacts” menu or press the “Add a contact” in the left corner of your Contact list01.png

A new search window will open where you can search for friends by name, or any other information they have listed in their Personal Profile. To add a friend to your Contacts, simply select the name from the search results and click the “Add” button.

When you start Skype for the first time you will already have one contact added to your Contact list called “Skype Test Call”. You can call this automated testing robot to see if your headset, speakers and/or microphone are working properly.
  3. You can now call the other person
